United States associate Downtown Properties Holdings has been acquiring and managing real estate investments in the United States since 1991.
The portfolio in Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Hawaii comprises over 2.5 million sq ft of office space, hotels with over 1,000 rooms, two 18-hole championship golf courses, a ski resort and three residential redevelopment projects. In addition, Downtown Properties has successfully developed over 700,000-sq-ft of carrier hotel space in Los Angeles.
Savvy with Institutional Capital Partners
Downtown Properties, and its principal, Goodwin Gaw, have acquired many properties from institutions such as Morgan Stanley, Equitable Life, Bank of Nova Scotia, LTCB of Japan and HSBC. Downtown Properties has been the operating partner and co-investor for Morgan Stanley Real Estate Funds (MSREF), with a total combined investment potential of approximately USD$500 million.
Our Track Record
Downtown Properties won international acclaim for its restoration and repositioning of the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, which is now one of the trendiest hotels in Los Angeles, and has been involved in the revitalisation and transformation of historically significant buildings dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries in downtown Los Angeles, notably the award-winning One Bunker Hill Building on 818 W. 7th Street and Bradbury Building at 304 S. Broadway.
Downtown Properties continues to be involved in high profile, sustainable projects in the downtown area. It led development of the Douglas Building Lofts, considered one of the best lofts conversion projects in the district, and is in the process of bringing to life two other historic landmarks, the Rowan Lofts and El Dorado Lofts.
